September 2019 veranstaltete die ESM Foundation in Zusammenarbeit mit Rod Eggert (Colorado School of Mines), Tomer Fishman (School of Sustainability) und Dimitrios Panias (National Technical University of Athens) eine Sitzung bei EUROMAT Stockholm mit den Titel Critical Raw Materials for a sustainable future und eine Joint Session on Critical Raw Materials.
