The Entwicklungsfonds Seltene Metalle (ESM) is a Swiss foundation in the field of rare and critical metals. Our projects, both in Switzerland and internationally, focus on supply security and a more sustainable handling of critical raw materials, which are needed for the energy transition, among other things. ESM works in an interdisciplinary environment and collaborates with industry, universities, NGOs, and politics at both national and international levels.
As an Office Manager, you will work closely with the Executive Director. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of daily operations. This includes document management, accounting, bookkeeping, and controlling. Additionally, you will manage communication with government offices, authorities, the Board of Trustees, and our project partners. The role offers opportunities for professional development.
Your responsibilities:
- Organization of daily operations and back-office management
- Planning and organization of Board of Trustees meetings
- Minute-taking
- Preparation of documents and presentations
- Management of bookkeeping (including project accounting), accounting, and payroll
- Controlling, process management, and financial reporting for national and European projects
- Communication and maintenance of collaboration with offices, authorities, and our project partners
- Maintenance of websites and social media
- Opportunity to expand the scope of responsibilities, depending on interest and suitability
Your profile:
- Completed administrative or commercial vocational training or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration)
- Professional experience in organizational, administrative, or commercial positions
- Excellent written and spoken knowledge of English and German; additional national languages are an advantage
- Very good knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic knowledge of website editing and social media
- Independent working style; reliable, motivated, flexible, and resilient
- Communicative personality
- Interest in the fields of technological change and sustainability
