Strategic Raw Materials and Semi-Finished Products in Swiss Free Trade Agreements

Motion 25.3947 “Versorgungssicherheit mit strategischen Rohstoffen und Halbfabrikaten als Bestandteil von Freihandelsabkommen” (Security of supply of strategic raw materials and semi-finished products as a component of free trade agreements) was unanimously adopted by the Swiss National Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee on June 30. The motion calls on the Swiss Federal Council to negotiate the security of supply of strategically important raw materials and semi-finished products in a binding manner when negotiating and modernizing free trade agreements and to include corresponding clauses in the agreements.
