At the European Materials Research Society’s Spring Meeting 2020, ESM Foundation CEO Alessandra Hool will give a speech to current topics in the area of critical raw materials in Europe. The speech will be part of the symposium Substitution and Recycling of Critical Raw Materials in Optoelectronic, Magnetic and Energy Devices-III.

The meeting, which will take place from May 25 to 29 in Strasbourg, will highlight the latest advances in material research with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research in both fundamental and applied areas. In parallel with the technical sessions, more than 80 international exhibitors are expected to display equipment, systems, products, software, publications and services during the meeting.

The technical program of the meeting will include 25 symposia organized into 4 topical clusters :

• Energy materials
• Nanomaterials and advanced characterization
• Biomaterials and soft materials
• Electronics, magnetics and photonics

The conference will be augmented by a series of workshops/tutorials to be held on Sunday, prior to the conference. One on “Thin Film chalcogenide photovoltaic materials” (as part of the symposium A) and another one on “Artificial intelligence for advancing materials science”.
